John Anthony Hilderbrand, 59, died suddenly on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at his newly renovated home in Ardmore.
John was born in Woodbury, NewJersey, in 1960 and has lived in the greater Philadelphia area for most of his life. He was an innovative thought leader with success in leading business development, strategic planning, and process improvement initiatives at Pennsylvania Power & Light Company, as well as, Talen Energy. He founded his consulting company eGryphon, LLC. which served companies such as Olenick where he was currently working on a SCADA project. He was recognized as a senior member of IEEE, a U.S. representative for CIGRE and a licensed ham radio operator. He loved jamming out to old time music with his daughter on his claw hammer banjo and Martin guitar.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Hilderbrand, his mother, Josephine Hilderbrand and his brother, William Hilderbrand.
A life celebration will be held in his honor on Friday June 7th at Linwood Park from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. The location of Linwood Park is 199 East Athens Ave., Ardmore, PA. Please note that Linwood Park is handicap accessible and the park does not have any restrooms or drinking fountains.
John will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father and son, a professional engineer, innovator, a licensed ham radio operator, banjo musician and lover of old time musician.
