Mr. S. Thomas F. Harrington Jr., 95, died peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Tom was a retired insurance salesman and family man, born June 16, 1926, the younger of two children to S. Thomas F. and Agnes (Murray) in Philadelphia, PA. Tom was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Marguerite A. Harrington (Haggerty), sons S. Thomas F. III, Hugh James (Jay), and Richard Joseph (Rosemary).
Tom is survived by daughter Marguerite A., daughter-in-law Rosemary, sons Timothy (Mitzi), Gregory (Patricia), Robert (Polly), Andrew, David, Stephen (Dawn), 13 grandchildren: Pamela, Patrick, Brendan,Katie, Jacob, Tristan, Joshua, Stephen Jr., Kelly, James, Anna, Robert, and Rose and 4 great-grandchildren: Jude, Cormac, Emelia, and Harper.
Tom was a proud graduate of St. Joseph Prep, Class of ‘43, and attended St, Joseph University after his Naval Service. Tom was an active participant in the St. Joseph Prep alumni Association for over 75 years. Tom also was a board member of the Eastern Association of Intercollegiate Football Officials. During his working years, Tom was active in the Middle Atlantic Blind Golf Association and the Montgomery County Association for the Blind.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at St. Genevieve Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031. Visitation from 9:00 am, Mass at 10:00 am.
