Douglas E. Robinson, a resident of Langhorne, Pennsylvania died peacefully at his home on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the age of 82. Born March 31, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Elmer M. Robinson and the late Ada Vesta Ross (nee Freestone). He was the beloved husband of Helen Robinson (nee Harper) and the loving father of Donna Menear and her husband Alain, and Douglas P. Robinson and his wife Stephanie. He took great pride and joy in being the grandfather of Julia Menear, Abigail Robinson, and Andrew Robinson.

Born and raised in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia, Doug was a graduate of Olney High School and later attended Drexel University. It was there that a public speaking course was instrumental in transforming the shy young man into a self-confident public speaker and a true and inspiring leader. Doug served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1963 followed by service in the Naval Reserves until 1966. He served in Naval Aviation with the Antisubmarine Squadron VS31 aboard the USS Wasp CVS18 which actively participated in the Cuban Missile blockade. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, his career included 29 years with the Philadelphia Electric Company and 15 years as a school bus driver and Treasurer of the Sunshine Club for the Neshaminy School District. He was a member of the American Legion and Scottsville United Methodist Church.

Doug had a deep love for baseball and was a devoted Phillies fan, eagerly anticipating the start of each season. He also found great joy in traveling, returning time and again to his favorite spot in Bermuda.

A proud Mason, Doug was recently awarded his Fifty Year Service pin to the fraternity. He was a member of the W. K. Bray - Southampton Lodge No 410 F. & A. M., the Southampton Square Club, the Knights of St. Andrew, and a 48 year member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in the Valley of Allentown. He was admired and respected as a leader and served terms of Worshipful Master of his Lodge, President of the Southampton Square Club, Thrice Potent Master, and Commander-in-Chief of the Lehigh Consistory in the Valley of Allentown. He was coroneted as a 33rd degree Mason AASR in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in September, 2000. He also served as Treasurer for the Bucks Region of the Valley of Allentown for many years.

His daily goal was to make someone smile. He will be remembered not only for his leadership and service but also for his kindness, integrity and unwavering love for his family and community.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Thursday April 3, 2025 at 9:00 to 10:45 A.M. Masonic Service at 10:45 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Scottsville United Methodist Church 2400 Brownsville Road, Langhorne, PA 19053. Lunch followed the service.

Interment with Military Honors was private at the National Cemetery in Washington Crossing at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Allentown, 1533 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18102
