The following tribute was composed by Devin’s family:

Devin M. Gold of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020. She was 27 years old.

Devin was born on January 5th, 1993 in Bucks County PA to parents Carmen Mays-Gold and J. Michael Gold. She is survived by her four sisters: Kristen, Erin, Lauren and Camryn, brother Michael, niece Sophia and nephew Noah along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and great friends.

Devin attended Council Rock North High School where she was a star on the girls’ varsity basketball team-earning her name to a short list of players who achieved over 1,000 points during her 4 years. She went on to play for Caldwell College and study psychology. Committed to continuing her education and to foster her passion for helping others, she went back for a master’s degree in physical therapy and was just a few classes away from graduating.

Devin enjoyed playing games, spending time with her sisters, and watching her niece and nephew. In between working and studying, you could find her working out, watching scary movies and reading.

Devin was a hard worker, had a funny sense of humor, was a loyal sister, thoughtful friend, and loving aunt. She now will get to know her older sister, Shannon who is has been waiting for her in heaven.

“You’re in the arms of the angel, may you find some comfort here.”
Services will be private.

Shine Like Gold

I wish that it was under a better circumstance for you to receive your flowers
I wish that we had an eternity to sum up your life instead of merely hours
But no matter how much we consider you to be family, you were always God’s possession
From the Almighty you were lovingly lent and by us you were beautifully borrowed

No matter a person’s walk in life, status or what they may go through
The reality of pain is that it is ambiguous and relative
For, no matter how much you try to prepare for it; it is just something that you can never get used to

Unbeknownst to us, it was your time to go
The Almighty had a better plan that is hard for us to understand
I feel that you would not want us to grieve, but we are merely man

Your life has reminded us of two things, diamonds and gold
Diamonds are precious, yet diamonds are created from highly applied pressure, such as life
Gold, a valuable element that is found on Earth, an element that holds it value, weight and worth
The final process of purification for Gold is that it must be tested and tried through the fire, such as life

Your task is complete
Your mission is done
You will know not an ounce of defeat
You have won

Devin, we will miss you
Devin, we will always love you
Before you go, we just have two last requests, which are:
Promise that you sparkle in the bright light like a diamond, and that you will always shine like gold
