- PATRICIA OZELLA FREMAN

Patricia was called home to her reward in Glory, Tuesday afternoon, November 3, 2020 while sleeping comfortable and peacefully at home.

Patricia was born, September 9, 1938 in Elizabeth City North Carolina, to the late Isaac Reddick & Addie Marie Bembury. She had several siblings. All who have gone home to Glory.

At a young age, Patricia along with her mother, younger brother and grandmother relocated to Brooklyn New York where she obtained her Elementary, High School and Nursing Education.. Patricia later became a Registered Nurse at Coney Island Hospital for many years. Patricia was married at a young age to her first husband Michael W. Bell Sr. From this union she bore 2 sons, Michael W. Bell Jr (Mickey) who has gone home to Glory 5/3/2020 and Edward D. Bell Sr. (Boo). That union ended in divorce. In the year 1965, Patricia met Eddie M Freeman Sr. and they fell in love. Their love grew and they moved to Philadelphia where Eddie’s position in the Navy led him. They were married and from this union was born their only child together, their daughter Vivian R Freeman-Williams (Peaches).

A hard worker and nurturer by nature, Patricia held several job positions until she found her place and peace with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as School Secretary, Parish Secretary and Camp Coordinator/Director (Camp Harambee – which was here pride and joy) That journey began in approximately 1974. In her spirit of caring for others, Patricia began and was well known for her “Thanksgiving Mass & Dinner for the Seniors & Shut ins” that was lovingly held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving every year at St. Columba/St. Martin de Porres Church and Church Hall, until she was not able to do so because of health reasons. Patricia worked for the Archdiocese until her retirement in mid 2000’s. With Patricia being a natural nurturer, she obtained, through Baptisms and Confirmation, well over 50 God Children. During her retirement, Patricia volunteered her time at the Philadelphia, Public School System at Ethel Allen School.

From 1985 until her passing Patricia was a faithful member of The Knights of Peter Clavier Ladies Auxiliary and 4th Degree Ladies, holding several offices most well loved for was Jr Daughter Counselor & Area Counselor for Philadelphia as well as Captain of the Ladies of Grace.

Patricia loved the Lord and a woman of strong faith. She was a faithful servant on her home Parish St. Columba/St. Martin de Porres where she help several positions in church. Patricia was a true pillar in her Parish and home community, loved and admired by many.

Leaving a void that cannot be filled, she leaves behind her loving, faithful and devoted daughter, Vivian R. Freeman-Williams with Son in Law Rev. George E. Mommy’s Words

FORGET YESTERDAY
“I am where I am. I know where I could have been, had I done what I did not do.
Tell me friend, what I can do today to be where I want to be tomorrow”
“God is all things to me. I am in HIS arms. He takes care of me each and everyday”
“God don’t like ugly and he ain’t to fond of pretty”
“God’s eyes ain’t closed”
“Every closed eye isn’t sleep, every hello didn’t just get there and every goodbye is not gone”

A Psalm of David.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalms 70
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.
Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.
Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.

A private mass will take place at St. Martin de Porres church in Philadelphia. A public graveside service will take place at Holy Sepulchre cemetery. The family requests that all attendees to either event wear a mask for safety.
