Origene Jean of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse. He was 78 years old. Origene was born April 25, 1943 in Kenscoff, Haiti, son of the late Eugene Jean and the late Altina Jean (nee - Pierre). He is the beloved husband of Marie Maude Jean (nee Joachin); father of Carlos Jean, Taicha Flore Jean, Evens Jean, Etzer Jean, Kempes Jean, Jude Jean, Nelta Jean, Djennie Pierre, Edith Pierre, Jemsia Cineus, Junior Costemly, Paulette Jean, and Maude Jean. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, sister in laws Julie Joachin, Solange Noel, Mireielle Daturius and their families. Origene will be especially missed by his best friends Father Cico, Bob Etienne, and Nicolas Cineus.
Origene was a teacher for many years in his home town of Kenscoff and later became the town Mayor before emigrating to the United States.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. William Church, 6200 Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
Religious services were conducted by Fr. Eugene Almonor, O.M.I from St. William Church, 6200 Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
