The following obituary was composed by Ronald’s family:

Ronald C. Gulezian, 81, of Ardmore, PA died Friday, January 14, 2022 at Lankenau Hospital. Born on June 3, 1940, he was the son of the late Nevart (nee Chatalbash) and the late Dr. Charles Emmanuel Gulezian. He is survived by his wife Anna Gulezian; daughter, Lee Crane and her husband, Terry; grandchildren, Katelyn and Patrick; cousins Janet Vart, Fred Samelian (Terry), Clara Samelian, and Jon Samelian (Karen); his in-laws, Mary Vernacchio, Gloria and Michael Muckensturm, and Donna Wells; as well as other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ron was born and raised in West Philadelphia where he developed life-long friendships with the ‘guys from the neighborhood’. It wasn’t uncommon over the years for him to arrive at their homes unannounced for a visit to reminisce and laugh about old times.

While attending the University of Pennsylvania, Ron earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D. degrees. He would move on to become a statistical consultant, lecturer, and author. Remaining close to his Philadelphia roots, Ron also taught statistics at Temple University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Delaware and Drexel University for a large portion of his professional life. A true statistician and consummate teacher, his love for statistics was apparent as he found a way to weave it into most conversations.

Though not one to talk of the importance of family, Ron’s actions spoke for themselves: he stood in without hesitation as godfather for his young cousins despite not being a religious man; he set aside his own medical needs to care for Ann when she fell seriously ill; and he supported his in-laws whenever \needed. Aside from being extremely proud of his grandchildren, he loved unusual art, music, especially jazz; going for ocean swims in the surf of Long Beach Island; and outdoing himself every year with carved pumpkins for Katelyn, Patrick and their friends.

A private graveside service was held on January 19, 2022 at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA.
