The following obituary was written by Mark’s family.

Mark Richard Threlfall, age 63, of Newtown Square, PA, passed away suddenly on December 7, 2024.

Mark was born on September 21, 1961, in Broomall, PA, to Margaret (née McGinn) and Richard Threlfall. He was a graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School, class of 1979, and went on to study Secondary Education at West Chester University. Mark later earned a Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University Great Valley.

After completing his education, Mark began his career at GE AeroSpace and went on to work for First USA Bank of Delaware and Smith Barney. His most recent role was at Capital Group, where he worked as a Wholesaler beginning in 2007.

Mark was a devoted father to his four children: Erin, Kirsten, Sean, and Bridget. He is also survived by his former wife, Kathleen Threlfall, his mother Margaret, his sister Marie (Robert Dollfus), his brother Michael, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Richard.

Mark was a loving, generous man who lived every day with a deep faith. He always put the needs of others above his own and found peace in helping those around him. Hilton Head Island held a special place in his heart, where he found joy and tranquility.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maple Glen on Friday, December 13, 2024. Family and friends were invited to call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the Mass immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Mark’s memory.
