With great sadness, we share with you the news of the passing of a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Best Friend. Naomi Ruth Spellman Henninger went home to our Heavenly Father on April 30, 2025 at the amazing age of 80 years old.

She was born in Meridian, Mississippi to John (Jack) Francis Spellman Jr. and Alyce Franklin Geisenhoner Spellman on June 11, 1944. Jack was a WWII veteran, killed in action December 13, 1944. Naomi was proud of her father and waited patiently for the day she would be reunited with him. She was predeceased by her late husband William Thomas Henninger, Jr. on 9/21/2006; her Mother, Alyce Franklin Stoeckel on 6/18/1995, and her stepfather Robert Stoeckel on 4/8/2005. Naomi is survived by her loving daughters Dawn Marie Calvino (Antonio) of Green Cove Springs, FL and Michele Alicia Henninger Edwards of Wilmington, NC. Naomi’s grandchildren, Anthony Daro (Sarah), Kevin Daro, Mikayla Moule’ (Brandon) and William Moule’ (Natalie). Naomi’s Great Grandchildren, Marlie Mae Daro, Mason C. Freeling and Mia A. Mitchem; Naomi’s Soul mate and loving sister, Roberta Salisbury (Phil) of Willow Grove, PA, her last surviving Aunt, Ruth Voorhees, age 93 of Quakertown, PA, and many cousins.

Naomi was an astounding woman with many attributes and accomplishments. She was brave, compassionate, giving, empathetic and most of all loving to everyone she cared about, including complete strangers. Naomi graduated high school from Radnor High in Radnor, PA. She graduated college with a degree in business and was an Administrative Assistant at Gulf Oil in the late 60’s to 70’s. In the 70’s and 80’s, she joined the EMT squad and became a Firefighter in Thompson, PA. She continued on to acquire a certificate as a travel agent and enjoyed that for a time, then went full circle and went back into being an administrative assistant at US Healthcare, then Harleysville Insurance. She retired from Wegmans of Mount Laurel, NJ in 2017 at the age of 73.

Many didn’t know, but Naomi was an accomplished pianist. Naomi will also be remembered for the many things she took such joy in over the years – gardening, reading, cross-stitching, ice-skating, skiing, movies, theater, family time, her beloved Phillies, phone games, and painting apps; and most of all, watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren blossom into the wonderful children and adults they have become.

We will remember all of the wonderful memories we have shared with her and continue to spread them down from generation to generation; as she did with all of us with our past loved ones.
Relatives and friends joined the family for a remembrance at the Celebration of Life service for such an incredible woman on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Visitation was from 10 am-11 am and services were held at 11:00 am at St. Anne's Episcopal Church located at 2119 Old Welsh Rd, Abington, PA, 19001. Interment was held privately.

For those who wish to send flowers, they can be directed to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church; Abington, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Naomi’s memory to St. Judes Hospital, one she donated to every year and held close to her heart; as well as, The American Heart Association and/or The American Lung Association.
