The following was written by Dorothy’s family:

Dorothy L. Green
Faithful Servant, Loving Mother, and Gracious Friend

Dorothy Louise Green, a devoted woman of faith, family, and service, was called home to be with the Lord. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to James A. Green and Louise Green, Dorothy lived a life marked by grace, diligence, and compassion.

A proud graduate of Penn State University, Dorothy earned her degree in Accounting in 1968. She was a lifelong learner and a trailblazer in her field, dedicating the majority of her professional career to ARCO Chemical Company, where she served as a Financial Analyst with distinction.

Dorothy was a cherished member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., through which she exemplified sisterhood, scholarship, and service. Her love for tennis was evident in her active role as Treasurer of the Philadelphia Tennis Club, where she combined her professional acumen with her passion for the sport. She also found joy and creativity in sewing and crafts, often blessing others with her handmade gifts and artistic spirit.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her brothers, Willie F. Green and James A. Green Jr. She leaves behind her loving son, Kevin N. Green, his wife Saundra, and her treasured granddaughters, Kara N. Green and Simone F. Green, who will carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and faith.

Dorothy’s life was a testament to Proverbs 31:31 — “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate”

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. and funeral service at 2:30 P.M. at Union United Methodist Church, 345 School Bell Road, Bear, DE 19701. A repast followed at 3:30 P.M. Interment was private.
