The following was composed by Arthur’s family:
Arthur, a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on July 14, 1938, he lived a life marked by service, creativity, hard work, and love for his family. He was the father of five children: his late son Arthur, and his surviving children Charles, Christopher, Nicholas, and Gayle. He was the grandfather of nine and the great-grandfather of two as well as other family and loved ones.
Arthur served in the US Navy and dedicated part of his early career to public service as a Philadelphia Police Detective, a role in which he developed the investigative skills and tenacity that would define his professional life. After leaving the department, he spent the majority of his career in the private sector as an investigator, earning the respect of colleagues and clients through his integrity, sharp instincts, and unwavering work ethic.
Music was at the heart of who he was. A talented pianist and composer, he found solace and expression in the melodies he created and the songs he loved. His loyalty to Philadelphia sports teams began when he was very young, especially the Phillies, Eagles and 76ers as well as his love of boxing-ran deep, and he never missed a chance to cheer for his hometown teams.
Basketball remained a constant passion throughout his life. Beyond playing, he dedicated many years to coaching baseball and basketball at the Summerdale Boys Club, shaping young athletes on and off the court. His guidance, patience, and belief in the kids he coached left a lasting impression on generations of players.
Arthur's life reflected commitment, curiosity, and a genuine passion for the world around him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the music he crafted, and the lives he touched through mentorship and service.
He will be missed by many and we hope lovingly remembered.
