|
The following was written by Francis’ family.
Francis John Mamrol, age 58, of Perkasie, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 13, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. He bravely battled ALS for five and a half years, a fight that never stopped him from living life to the fullest.
Francis was born on May 27, 1967, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Walter and Virginia Mamrol. He attended Cardinal Dougherty High School. During his sophomore year, Francis met the love of his life, Maria. They became friends at the time, went their separate ways after high school, and later reconnected—growing their love into a lifelong partnership.
Francis attended the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology, studying carpentry, and went on to work as a skilled carpenter. He proudly served as a Philadelphia Police Officer for seventeen years. Following his service, he founded Mamrol Construction, Inc., continuing to work as a carpenter and true jack-of-all-trades until the progression of his illness.
Francis lived a life marked by hard work, adventure, family, love, and kindness. He will be remembered for his passion for fishing, water-skiing, and traveling; his incredible craftsmanship; his hilarious and often inappropriate jokes; and his love for wild, “redneck” projects. His memory continues to make us laugh and smile.
Francis is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Maria Mamrol; his three children, Natalie Mamrol, Alex (Alexander) Mamrol, and Jimmy (James) Mamrol; and his siblings, Bernadine DeMarco and her husband Michael, Carolyn Ryan and her husband Martin, David Mamrol and his wife Touri, and Eugene Mamrol. He is also survived by his 14 nephews and nieces and his 6 great-nephews and nieces; his aunt and godmother, Bernice McCulla, and his uncle and godfather, Eric McCulla and his wife Marilyn.
Flowers or memorial fund donations in Francis’s memory may be sent to 741 Cedar Lane, Perkasie, PA 18944 or the GoFundMe towards the top of this page. Donations will directly help with Fran’s medical expenses, Celebration of Life costs, and supporting his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 20, from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM, in the MGL Room at FOP Lodge #5, located at 11630 Caroline Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154.
